Intent Charter started on real hotel projects, where the hardest thing to protect was the one thing nobody was responsible for: what the design was meant to be.
Why intent
On a design-led project everyone owns something. The contractor owns the build, the project manager owns time, the cost consultant owns cost and the operator owns brand standards. The design intent belongs to no one, so it is traded away one reasonable-looking decision at a time.
Intent Charter makes that intent the thing a project is run around. The studio declares it once; every task, change, order, drawing and report is linked to it, checked against it and reported on. The client can see that it is being protected, and the studio can show it.
